OVERVIEW: Ignatian Service Corps (ISC) is a post-graduate service program from Loyola Marymount University that joins young people together to serve for a year as full-time Volunteers. Volunteers respond to the call of social justice and partner with various agencies to work in marginalized communities. They seek to live out the Ignatian principles and work to create a more just society. The five values of the ISC are Social Justice (responding to the call of creating a just society by serving in solidarity within the community), Ignatian Spirituality (exploring and discovering spirituality rooted in the Ignatian tradition), Simplicity (focusing on serving the people of Los Angeles and living a simple yet sustainable lifestyle), Community (building community by forming relationships for support and encouragement throughout the service year), and Career/Professional Development (developing as a strong leader ready to work or study in various field after service year).
