ACTIVITIES: Syracuse sites: Latino, Asian and African American and new refugee neighborhood youth centers; Mentoring, tutoring; Refugee resettlement; Food pantry; Free medical and legal clinics; Developmentally disabled adults; Women’s shelter.  Costa Rica sites: Clinic for terminally and chronically ill children; Day care center for refugee children; Tutoring/mentoring (girl’s school and a school for deaf, blind, and physically challenged children); Social outreach program at co-ed school; Breast cancer clinic assistant.

OVERVIEW: FrancisCorps volunteers share their gifts and talents in a year long, faith based community in the spirit of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi in ministry sites in Syracuse, NY and San Jose, Costa Rica. FrancisCorps places a large emphasis on the personal development and growth of volunteers, through daily prayer and intentional community.
