Geneva Hutchinson joined the Center in September 2023 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Geneva comes to the Center with experience at The Salvation Army Kroc Center and Robinson Community Learning Center. Geneva’s research examines the complexities of Christian purity culture, sexual trauma, and physical and spiritual abuse within the church. As an artist, she creates artwork related to these ideas and through creating seeks healing and reclamation for herself and other women with this lived experience. Geneva was a Graduate Justice Fellow at the Center during the 2022-23 academic year. Geneva holds a B.A. in Communications and B.F.A. in Printmaking from Clemson University and an M.F.A. in Studio Art from The University of Notre Dame. In her free time, Geneva enjoys cooking vegan food and traveling.
