ACTIVITIES: Interns work five days a week with occasional weekends, 35-45 hours a week total, in the areas of organic gardening, alpaca/animal husbandry, and/or fiber arts (weaving, felting, knitting and spinning). Benefits: A private dorm-style room, farm produce, one paid meal per day in the cafeteria and a household budget for other meals, $100 monthly stipend, and access to WVC workshops/opportunities to learn fiber arts such as , as well as environmental advocacy, community engagement and spiritual growth.

REQUIREMENTS: Must be physically fit — capable of lifting at least 50 pounds, use a shovel and wheelbarrow easily, and work in a variety of weather conditions. Previous experience with animals is preferred, but not necessary to apply. Above all, a willingness to learn.

COMMITMENT: 3, 6 or 12 months

OVERVIEW: White Violet Center for Eco-Justice (WVC), a ministry of the Sisters of Providence, offers sustainable agriculture internships for 3, 6 or 12 months at their farm in Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Indiana, near Terre Haute. The Farm consists of 320 acres of forestland, a 7-acre organic garden, a small apiary from which raw honey is harvested, about 200 chickens, and a herd of about 40 alpacas.
