St. Joseph Worker Program

ACTIVITIES: Wide range of placements, dependent on location, including services related to domestic violence victim support, housing, food justice, sustainable agriculture, at-risk youth, gang intervention, community outreach, refugee resettlement, healthcare and public health, legal services, advocacy, education, economic justice.

COMMITMENT: 11 months

OVERVIEW: The St. Joseph Worker Program Is a one year volunteer experience for women who are passionate about social change. St. Joseph Workers (SJWs) commit to a year of service during which they delve into the core values of justice, leadership, spirituality, and living simply in an intentional community. Volunteers receive room, board, health insurance, transportation to/from site, small monthly stipend and possible student loan deferment, as well as professional development opportunities and mentoring.
