ACTIVITIES: Coordinating Activities for Adults and Children; Coaching; Community Organizing; Community Gardening; Teaching/Mentoring (elementary, art & music, ENL, religion); Music Ministry; Pastoral Counseling and Parish Ministry; LatinX and Immigrant Ministry; Prison Ministry; Soup Kitchen; Outreach to Shut-ins and Hospital Patients; Women’s Day Center Staff.

REQUIREMENTS: Dependable and flexible Christian men and women. Personal interview required.

OVERVIEW: Inner-city ministry, providing services to the poor and marginalized in Durham, NC and Philadelphia, PA. Franciscan Volunteers live in intentional community and share an active prayer life. As living witnesses to Gospel values and Franciscan ideals, the Franciscan Volunteer Ministers are committed to a simple lifestyle that promotes solidarity with the poor and builds a Christian community with one another.
