OVERVIEW: For more than four decades, Covenant House has helped transform and save the lives of more than a million homeless, runaway and trafficked young people. Our comprehensive program model builds a life-affirming bridge for young people by engaging youth on the street (Street Outreach), providing no-barrier, safe, short-term housing to meet their immediate needs (Crisis Care), and longer-term transitional housing (Rights of Passage) to assist those who are ready for more independent living. Our work is guided by a mission to serve youth with absolute respect and unconditional love… to help suffering homeless kids… and to protect and safeguard all children in need. Faith Community is Covenant House’s full-time volunteer program—it’s an opportunity for recent college graduates to come together and serve at one of our Covenant House sites. In addition to serving our youth, Faith Community members live with other college graduates focused on Catholic/Christian spirituality and a simple community life style. Service takes place in one of our shelter sites, where members work 40 hours a week helping at-risk youth get back on a healthy life path.
