Monalisa, an International Human Rights Lawyer, has represented victims of human rights abuse in different parts of the world for over a decade. A strategic litigator and negotiator, Monalisa brings expertise on issues spanning war crimes, terrorism, gender based violence, child sexual abuse, human trafficking and transparency in governance. She has addressed rights violations through negotiations and legal claims brought in multiple jurisdictions following extensive engagement with victims directly. She has worked with international tribunals, NGOs, academic institutions and legal aid clinics in five countries. 

Monalisa is passionate about using the law creatively, bringing novel approaches as well as making ‘human rights’ a more diverse and equal space. She earned her LL.M. in International Human Rights at the University of Notre Dame Law School graduating summa cum laude in 2018.
