AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps State and National Network supports a wide range of local service programs to address critical community needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. More than 80,000 men and women serve as volunteers in over 21,000 locations including nonprofits, schools, public agencies, and community and faith-based groups across the country. These positions typically involve direct service.

AmeriCorps VISTA members are passionate and committed to their mission to bring individuals and communities out of poverty. Members make a year-long, full-time commitment to serve on a specific project at a nonprofit organization or public agency. They focus their efforts to build the organizational, administrative, and financial capacity of organizations that fight illiteracy, improve health services, foster economic development, and otherwise assist low-income communities.

AmeriCorps NCCC is a full-time residential program for young adults (18-24) interested in hands-on, team-based projects oriented toward outside work and disaster relief.
