Javi Zubizarreta is the Communications Program Director for the Institute for Social Concerns, where he helps to tell the story and impact of the institute across its various platforms. 

Prior to joining the institute, Javi was the Director of Grotto Network, a groundbreaking media platform for young adults at the University of Notre Dame. His work in communications, media, and video production has been recognized with ten Emmy Awards and several dozen Catholic Media Awards. 

His storytelling has focused on a range of justice topics and global issues, including immigration, poverty, climate justice, mental health, and more. As a filmmaker, his work has played for audiences across the globe. His feature film, Zuretzako, tells the story of migrant Basque sheepherders and was recognized with top honors at film festivals in Colombia, Mexico, and the United States. In 2010, he was the University of Notre Dame’s first recipient of the Princess Grace Award.
