Henry Hilger ’27 is a double major in science preprofessional studies and economics from Ellicott City, Maryland, now living in Dunne Hall. The Institute for Social Concerns was one of the main reasons he chose Notre Dame, and it has been one of the most important and rewarding parts of his college experience. He participated in the Summer Fellowship through the institute, where he lived in Arlington, Virginia, and worked at L’Arche, a group home for adults with intellectual disabilities. On campus, he participates in ecology research on schistosomiasis in the Rohr Lab, the Global Medical Brigades Club, and the Class of 2027 Class Council as a member of the Wellness Committee. After graduation, he hopes to attend medical school or pursue a career in healthcare economics, combining interests in medicine and policy.
