Description
In 2023, Good Shepherd Ministries celebrated 60 years of service to the homeless and marginalized in Toronto. We offer the largest free meal program in the city, shelter beds and an in-house drug and alcohol recovery program for adult men, housing support and follow up, eviction prevention, and support for veterans. In addition, we run a home for people living with HIV/Aids and a residence for elderly men with a history of chronic homelessness.
Student Role
Students can expect to spend the majority of their time in the dining room – helping to prepare and serve the meal in addition to being present and available to those looking for support and conversation. There should also be opportunities for the students to spend time in our Drug and Alcohol Recovery Enrichment program, Housing Follow-up and Eviction Prevention, Clothing Room, Fundraising, Barrett House (home for people living with HIV/Aids), and St. Joseph’s Residence (home for the elderly).
