Jackie  Christianson, PhD, FNP-C, is an assistant professor in the Marquette University College of Nursing as well as a practicing nurse practitioner in the emergency department and critical care settings. Their research centers around reward structures for healthcare workers, healthcare worker well-being, and reducing intention to leave healthcare professions, with a particular interest in the relationships between professionalism, union activity, and worker well-being in the hospital setting. Clinically, Dr. Christianson has been working in emergency services since 2007 and has experience in numerous settings including ambulance, emergency department, and field hospital settings. Their talk will explore the monetary as well as non-monetary components of job satisfaction, worker belonging, and contribution to the mission of patient care.

This lecture is part of the Health, Humanities, and Society Speaker Series co-sponsored by the Center for Social Concerns and the John J. Reilly Center for Science, Technology & Values.
