Human Rights Lawyer Monalisa Presents Artificial Intelligence & Trafficking: Redefining “Child Victims” and “Abuse”

Wednesday, April 9, 2025
5:00 pm–6:30 p.m.

As technology changes the landscape of child sex trafficking, legal systems and communities are compelled to grapple with a rapidly changing criminal landscape. With the swift advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), the traditional notions of “victim”, “perpetrator” and “accountability” are altering. These pose significant challenges for law enforcement, parents and child victims of trafficking. Reflecting on the year in residence and time spent engaging with students and the broader community on these critical issues, the talk will propose potential pathways to ensure safety of children and safeguard rights of victims. Reception to follow the talk.

This event is co-sponsored by the Institute for Social Concerns and the Initiative on Race and Resilience
