Wonu Fasasi
Postbaccalaureate Research Fellow
Wonu Fasasi is a postbaccalaureate research fellow at the Institute for Social Concerns, where she works closely with the reentry program and local partners on community-based initiatives supporting returning citizens. She brings to this work a blend of research, storytelling, and on-the-ground experience, guided by empathy, justice, and a commitment to meaningful change.
Wonu is deeply committed to addressing structural inequality through community-centered approaches. She previously served as an undergraduate research assistant at the Klau Institute for Civil and Human Rights, where she analyzed systemic barriers to education, and as a Neighborhood Development Assistant Manager with Hopeprint, Inc., in Syracuse, New York, where she examined the effects of community-based investments on urban neighborhoods.
Her academic and professional journey reflects a passion for social impact, particularly in the areas of mass incarceration and reentry support.
Wonu is a 2025 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in global affairs.
