Description
Every Child Pediatrics’ mission is to provide accessible, affordable, high-quality health care and support programs to infants, children, and youth across Colorado, regardless of their insurance status or family’s ability to pay. The organization aims to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed and thrive in their health and well-being. They focus on a child’s overall well-being by providing high-quality medical care, behavioral health and counseling services, dental care, nutrition, healthy lifestyle programs, and connections to support services such as housing and transportation. Every Child Pediatrics is a longstanding nonprofit, providing unwavering, compassionate care because they believe that every child deserves the best health care and opportunity to succeed.
Student Role
The student will assist with administrative tasks: school forms, patient outreach related to QI projects. In addition, they will work with Medical Assistants to decrease vaccine anxiety with the patients. They may also work with the Care Navigator in supporting the patient and family’s needs (i.e. food, diapers, formula, etc.).
Work Schedule
The schedule will be regular business hours, Monday through Friday. The weekly commitment is 35-40 hours per week.
Orientation
Zoom orientation will go over the history of the organization, HIPAA, expectations, dress code, safety/precaution issues, etc. In person orientation will be a tour of the clinic.
Housing Information
Housing will be with the Urban Servant Corps intentional community in a large 10-bedroom house located about 10 blocks from the Capitol in Denver, CO. The neighborhood is walkable/bikeable to parks, restaurants, music venues and other urban life activities. This community is welcoming and affirming of LGTBQIA+ folks. Each individual will have their own bedroom and will utilize shared common space.
Student Preferences
We value intellectual curiosity and a sense of teamwork. The student should be able to take initiative but also when to ask for assistance. A sense of humor and optimism is helpful! Through it all, the student must be prepared to show grace and kindness to our patients.
