Xavier Fellows Program

ACTIVITIES: Xavier Fellows serve in the Faculty of Xavier High School. Along with teaching classes, Fellows take on other responsibilities to help fulfill Xavier’s mission of educating the whole person. Examples of these responsibilities include moderating extracurriculars, coaching, bringing students on retreats, and advising. Furthermore, Xavier Fellows are expected to participate in our campus community that includes other Xavier faculty members and administration and includes attending community masses and weekly community “porch prayer” meetings. Room and board as well as a small stipend are provided.

OVERVIEW: Xavier High School is a Jesuit boarding school in Chuuk, Micronesia that has been educating young men and women from across Micronesia since 1952. The Xavier Fellows Program recruits independent volunteers to serve 1–2 year terms as teachers and members of our campus community. Our Fellows live on campus alongside our students, Jesuit staff, and other volunteers in an intentional, faith-based community. It’s a deeply immersive experience, teaching, mentoring, and sharing daily life with young Micronesian men in one of the most remote and beautiful places in the Pacific. Many of our past volunteers describe it as one of the most transformative experiences of their lives.
