OVERVIEW: Maggie’s Place provides houses of hospitality for pregnant and parenting women in need reach their goals, and welcomes them into a community filled with love and dignity. Following Catholic social teaching, we challenge each other to strive toward personal growth, to welcome the gift of every person that enters our door, and to promote positive social change. AmeriCorps members spend a year or summer living with pregnant and parenting women formerly experiencing homelessness who are now housed in a loving, caring environment at Maggie’s Place in Phoenix, Arizona. Using a trauma-informed care approach, AmeriCorps members are on the front lines of the fight to overcome Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and break the relentless cycle of poverty. AmeriCorps members live and work in one of our five Maggie’s Place homes, managing the day-to-day needs of the house and fostering a safe and welcoming home environment.

Due to the live-in nature of the work, this is a women-only position. We are looking primarily for full-time live-in AmeriCorps members with full-time and part-time live-out positions available on a case-by-case basis.
