Sydney O’Malley ’26 is an accountancy major and Catholic social tradition minor from Yonkers, New York, who lived in Cavanaugh Hall before moving off-campus. Outside of her role on the Hospitality Team, she’s been deeply engaged with the Institute for Social Concerns through three summer fellowships. Her experiences include working at Vidya Sagar in Chennai, India, a school serving individuals with disabilities, Corrymeela in Northern Ireland, a peacebuilding and reconciliation organization, and Bethany Land Institute in Uganda, which promotes sustainable agriculture and integral human development. Beyond the Institute’s programs, she continues to pursue related opportunities such as a project in Colombia with the Notre Dame Peace Accords Matrix. On campus, she’s also involved with Best Buddies, Student Consulting for Nonprofits, and the Tax Assistance Program, which provides free tax filing for low-income residents in Indiana. After graduation, she hopes to continue this momentum in the peacebuilding field and plan to pursue a post-graduate service opportunity.
