Jim Cunningham, MBA
Program Director for Reentry
Jim Cunningham serves as the program director for reentry, providing career development and reentry support for students and alumni of the Moreau College Initiative and members of the local community. Inside Indiana prisons and jails, he teaches courses leads and workshops addressing life skills, vocational discernment, employability, financial literacy, and recovery. Jim also works with returning citizens to co-create individualized reentry plans. On the outside, he works to build networks of housing providers, employers, educational institutions, and mental health services to guide returning citizens toward the resources they need. Jim researched and compiled the Indiana Reentry Guide for Returning Citizens, recognized by the Indiana Department of Correction as the standard for the Hoosier state.
Prior to joining the Institute for Social Concerns, Jim worked on the Experiential Learning and Career Development teams in the Mendoza College of Business. Throughout his career Jim has been actively involved with philanthropic organizations, including Dismas House of Indiana, Upper Room Recovery Community, and the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
Jim earned his master of business administration from the University of Notre Dame, bachelor of business administration from St. Xavier University, and associate of science from Moraine Valley Community College.
