Deadline: Student Art Contest

The Institute for Social Concerns seeks original artworks created by Notre Dame undergraduate or graduate students to be printed on stationery and distributed for a project. 

Submitted artworks should relate to themes around Catholic social teaching, including but not limited to human dignity, proximity, care for creation, solidarity. Art can inspire moral imagination and the call is intended to be broad. Up to five artworks will be selected to be reproduced and printed as a set of cards. At least one artist will be awarded a $100 prize, with up to four honorable mentions receiving $50 each. Each selected artist will also receive 25 cards with their artwork printed on it. 

Submission guidelines: Each submission should include a high-resolution photograph or scan, a title, and a brief statement explaining the connection to the theme. Eligible media includes painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, digital work, other 2-D artwork, or photography of 3-D artwork. Art does not need to have been created for this contest to be considered. 

The Institute is committed to the normative proposition that a just world is a beautiful world.
