Description

The Mission of Our Lady of the Angels establishes a Catholic presence in the Humboldt Park area, one of the economically poorest neighborhoods in Chicago. The Mission’s purpose is 2 fold: to assist the materially poor and to share the treasures of our Catholic faith. Currently, the Mission’s very large pantry/ material assistance program provides food, clothing, diapers, and other essentials for over 4000 families a month. The Mission empowers senior citizens, families, and youth through community building programs. For kids, the Mission partners with the YMCA to run after school programs and summer camps for youth in the area. The Mission spreads our Catholic faith both through service/ prayer/ retreat opportunities at the Mission and by going out throughout the Archdiocese to give talks and retreats.
