Description

We are a Missionary Society. We understand our mission as promoting a better life to all people and to creation. Three years ago, in line with Pope Francis we focused on integral ecology as our goal. We work on different areas that include, agro-ecology, ecological spirituality, health, education, and parish ministry with indigenous communities, together with other organizations.

Student Role

Students will be guided to visit the diverse kinds of possible places for ministry, so they can choose what they like. Options include: 1) Community educational garden and cultivating medicinal plants 2) Reforestation projects 3) Salomon Klein, an orphanage for 0-6 year olds, caring for and playing with the babies and young kids 4) Hogar Albergue Nuestra Casa, a home for girls who have experienced sexual violence from family members and been removed and placed in this home. Students spend time with the girls playing outside, talking, cooking, helping with homework, dancing, and taking them to various medical appointments. 5) Niños Con Valor, which runs two homes for children in vulnerable situations. 6) La Casa del Migrante, a shelter for migrant workers 7) After school support programs providing homework support to middle and high school students 8) La Oficina Jurídica para la Mujer which provides services (legal, counseling, etc) for women. 9) Casa San Martin, working with 80 boys who have parents unable to care for them, tutoring and teaching skills such as bread making, caring for animals, and agriculture. 10) Hogar San Jose, spending time with older adults, reading, talking, playing, and caring for them. Depending on the places of ministry, the daily schedule will be determined. We will set up together once they decide where to work. They will have the opportunity to participate in the community mass if they want each week, and they will be able to visit the mission in Tipnis with an indigenous community.
