Description

The Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago (ICNC) is recognized as one of the oldest and largest business incubators in the United States, with its origins dating back to 1967. ICNC is a thriving ecosystem that brings resources and business support to entrepreneurs in Chicago’s Near West Side. We build an inclusive, equitable eco-system of support where businesses flourish and communities thrive, sparking economic wealth and community development. We aim to tackle the many obstacles and barriers that small business entrepreneurs face when starting a business in underserved communities

Student Role

At ICNC we don’t just offer advice; we provide the resources and support business owners need to scale. To do this effectively, we must build deep trust with our donors and the diverse entrepreneurs we serve. Your mission will be to help us measure our success and tell our story in a way that inspires action. As part of the ICNC Philanthropy and Impact team you will be contributing to these efforts by getting to know and understand our customers, then creating journey maps, marketing collateral, attending events and gathering result data that will allow us to continually improve our impacts. You will gain an understanding of this unique business model and be asked to contribute your ideas to this strategic team.

Work Schedule

40 hours per week with an opportunity to work remotely at times once fully onboarded

Orientation

Orientation will consist of 2 days of onboarding with HR; various members of the leadership team; and time with our CEO. As part of our Philanthropy and Impact team, this intern will work closely with our marketing and fundraising leaders to achieve weekly deliverables that align with the intern’s skill sets and ICNC’s organizational goals. Training on internal systems will be ongoing.
