Description
We are the Good Shepherd Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where hospitality is expressed to our homeless and less fortunate guests according to the goal of our founder, Brother Mathias: “”Charity Unlimited”” through addiction recovery, medical shelter, food, housing assistance, and clothing for those in need since 1951. We strive to serve, with respect and compassion, the most vulnerable in our community by providing sustainable resources, services, and programs that meet the most basic needs.”=
Student Role
Duties at the Good Shepherd are but not limited to, Front Desk Reception, Mail distribution, Serving at our Community Meal Program, Clothing Room, assisting in our Housing Program. Interacting and assisting at our Fresh Start Recovery Program
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm
Orientation
Each student will have a thorough understanding of our expectations and how our agency operates. We are very flexible knowing that no two students are alike, We strive to make this experience as enjoyable and educational as possible. Students will have a Religious Brother in our home to supervise and act as a mentor.
Housing Information
We are a Catholic religious community comprised of 5 Religious Brothers and two Priests. Each student will have a private room and bath. Our community is very relaxed and informal. Opportunity for daily Mass if desired. No expectation to participate in any of our spiritual practices. Morning Prayer, Mass, etc. We have a cook that prepares our meals.
