St. Mary's of the Assumption

The Higher Achievement Program (HAP) at St. Mary’s of the Assumption parish is a 6-week long summer program for 8-12 year old children providing math, literacy, and religious education. The SSLP student is responsible for a group of students, teaching math, reading, and religion in the morning, assisting in outdoor activities in the afternoon, and preparing fun events like arts and crafts projects and movie days. For two weeks the student works with the other SSLP student at Project Hospitality.

St. Ann Church and School (Chicago- Pilsen)

St. Ann's Parish is a supportive community in the Pilsen area of Chicago. For more than a century, St. Ann’s School has been enriching lives by providing high-quality Catholic education and cultural, community programs. The student works on organizational and outreach tasks, such as coordinating street masses and fellowship events, working to increase enrollment at the school, and offering ministry through youth groups and retreats.

St. Michael Indian School

St. Michael Indian School (SMIS) is located on the Navajo Indian Reservation in NE Arizona. The school provides quality Catholic education for more than 330 students, kindergarten through high school. Housing for volunteers is provided on site. The volunteer works with the Buildings and Grounds crew. An interest and familiarity with electronic, plumbing and structural schematics would be helpful. An engineering student might find this an exciting challenge. Other skills include painting, livestock fencing, repairing and cleaning around campus, masonry repair and campus landscaping.
