Mount St. Vincents

Mount Saint Vincent Home provides services and programs for children who have behavioral and emotional issues due to trauma, abuse, neglect and mental illness. The summer camp is designed for children who need a lot of structure and guidance. The student receives some training because of the challenging nature of working with challenging children. The student assists teachers within the classrooms and organizes and participates in recreational activities.

Christian Brothers Bonita Spings, Florida

The Christian Brothers of Bonita Springs work with Catholic Charities and St. Leo the Great Parish to provide tutoring, and a summer program to the Latino community. Los Hermanos Cristianos is a day camp for children that emphasizes the reinforcement of academic skills, arts and crafts, recreational activities and field trips. Students teach enrichment classes, provide recreational activities, organize field trips, and mentor the children.

Lopez Island Family Resource Center

The Lopez Island Family Resource Center (LIFRC) focuses on aiding and enhancing the lives of children and families on Lopez Island. LIFRC provides a food bank, energy assistance, a computer lab, and Kids' Summer Workshops. From helping with a small food bank to helping teach some of our summer workshops at the LIFRC the SSLP student offers assistance in whatever ways are needed.


LifeMoves is dedicated to helping homeless families and individuals across Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Peninsula return to permanent housing and self-sufficiency. In addition to providing shelter to over 700 individuals every night, LifeMoves programs provide intensive case management, job and housing search assistance, mental health support, and life skills education to all adult clients.

Student Responsibilities:

Hilton Head Boys and Girls Club

The Hilton Head Boys & Girls Club runs a summer day camp program for children ages 6-18. The members come primarily from low income, single parent homes. The club works to provide a positive place for kids to play, learn and grow through activities in a safe, loving environment. The student acts as a Program Assistant supervising activities, planning new events, and mentoring the children.

Neighborhood House West Family Center

The Neighborhood House West Family Center is a resource for the immigrant and refugee community. Summer in the City is a summer camp for children of the neighborhood’s low-income families who are in need of supervision while their parents work. The student assists in planning camp activities, enrolling participants, teaching English classes, organizing field trips, and acting as a counselor.

Boys and Girls Club of Newark

The Boys and Girls Club of Newark provides a safe environment for children as an alternative to the gang culture of inner-city Newark. The Summer Enrichment Program provides structured daily activities for the kids in order to prevent "summer learning loss." These activities are designed so that kids can have fun while learning. The student works mainly in the gamesroom, enthusiastically playing games with the kids, and in the gym, facilitating age- and skill-appropriate activities.

Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati (U.S. Bank)

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati believes every young person has the capacity and potential to succeed, to achieve greatness, and to soar. The Boys and Girls Clubs offer swimming lessons, tutoring, field trips, and other recreational activities. The students organize, supervise, and participate in activities with the children demonstrating and encouraging fair play, sportsmanship, and respect. The U.S. Bank Club is part of a national network whose goal is to provide a safe haven for youth to develop different skills in a supportive, positive environment.
