St. Peter Claver Catholic Church - Summer Camp

Two SSLP students will assist with our 6 week Summer Camp Program for students in PreK through 6th grade. In addition, the students will help with our Youth Ministry work with High School and Junior High Programs on Wednesday and other evenings. Students will participate in parish activities in the evenings and weekends and will also be exposed to community organizing.

For the remaining two weeks of the SSLP, students will assist with community organizing and other parish based efforts. This is a unique and amazing community to be a part of for a summer!

The SSLP intern will be a part of the annual 8-week Summer Day Camp conducted within our Center, for about 45 - 50 kids, ages 4 to 13 years old. A schedule is followed each week that includes field trips and special opportunities all around Omaha, down time and activites at the Center, and meals.

St. Ignatius School

The SSLP will take place both at the school in the Bronx in a neighborhood called Hunts Point, as well as at a boys' or girls' camp in Lake Placid, NY. The first five weeks will be spent at the school teaching in specific classes for specific students who are deficient. The remaining three weeks will be spent with the students and faculty at a leadership program at a campground in Lake Placid.
