Engaged CST Leadership Seminar: Sustainability

Social Concerns Seminar

The Engaged CST Leadership Seminar is a course designed to take CST values and ethics and apply them to concrete practices and postures of leadership in various post-graduate fields of work. Reserved for upperclassmen, this Engaged Leadership Seminar is focused on sustainability. This course is focused on collaborative group projects and learning experiences that will help students sharpen their capacity to lead in their field from a deep well of CST animated values. It will help students move from learning about how CST intersects and informs their field to the work of learning how to then lead out in that field in a manner that uplifts a commitment to justice as informed by CST. This seminar does not have a spring break immersion.


  • Junior/Senior
  • 2 CSC seminars and/or,
    • 1 CSC seminar + 1 other CSC program and/or,
    • CST/PSIM minor
  • Students should be prepared to demonstrate how this seminar will inform, or aid in discerning, their field of work after graduation.
  • Students pursuing a minor in Sustainability who meet the above criteria are particularly encouraged to apply.

This seminar does not have a Spring break immersion.

Class Dates: Fridays: 1:00 - 2:30, February 4 - April 8, 2022

Application Process: 
  • (1) Completed application and (2) Possible interviews (you will be notified about interviews via email).
  • Registration approval will be granted by the department upon acceptance into the Seminar.
  • Notification of seminar placement will happen before the University deadline to register through NOVO.
  • If you are not selected for participation in your first choice of seminars, you will be given the opportunity to participate in another seminar if there is still availability.
  • By submitting the application, you confirm you are in good academic standing.
  • For admitted students, the cost for this seminar is charged to your student account upon completion of the immersion. Full seminar fee may be charged for all withdrawals on or after the second date of the seminar class session.
