Focus:
To provide equine-assisted activities and therapies to children and adults with special needs.
Activities:
Encourage and assist riders during therapeutic horseback riding lessons; guide adults and children with special needs through grooming, tacking, and arena activities; feed the horses; help in the office; assist with events, mini horse visits and special projects.
Hours:
Lessons/office: (Mon-Thurs) 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. varies by day, (Sat) 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.; Feeding: Approx 1 to 1-1/2 hr. Morning feeders begin around 7:30/8:00 a.m. Afternoon feeders start around 4:00 p.m.
Requirements:
Commit to One Semester; Horse experience is helpful, but not required. We are 9.6 miles from campus (slightly south and west of the airport) - but not on a bus route.
