Michael serves as the director of Discernment and Advocacy Education. He accompanies students exploring their respective vocations and trains them in community organizing and advocacy work. He is a member of the Near Northwest Neighborhood and provides leadership to Faith in St. Joe County, a faith-based organizing initiative that cultivates power through relationship-building across religious, racial and economic differences.

His articles and artwork have appeared in ARTS: The Arts in Religious and Theological Studies, America Magazine, and South Bend's annual Art and Social Justice Exhibition. He co-founded the Sappy Moffitt Baseball League, where his South Shore Liners remain a perennial contender.
