Description
The Holy Cross Sisters in Ghana have been ministering since 1983. Their outreach includes Eucharistic ministry, faith formation, and formal education. NDBridge students would be assisting in the school, which has 1,015 students. The boarding school on site houses 30 boys and 32 girls for now. Possible projects for students to collaborate with include: creating, assisting with, and teaching recreational courses, arts, and English classes, as well as assisting with the recycling project and women’s empowerment activities on the weekends at St. Martha Catholic Church.
Student Role
Students will assist in classrooms, teach PE and Creative Arts, help in English classes, collaborate with teachers to plan school programs, assist with SOAR – Sisters Organizing and Advancing Recycling – community outreach and education opportunities, and other needs as identified by the Sisters.
Work Schedule
Students work four days per week, Fridays will be free. Occasionally, students will assist on the weekends to help with other ministries, such as visitation, accompaniment of children. It is highly recommended that students take advantage of this opportunity to get off site and spend time in the local villages.
Orientation
Via Zoom, Sisters Monica Assifuah-Nunoo CSC, Martina Dery CSC, and Mary Asamoah-Botche who work as the academic heads of the school will do the Zoom orientation and share the expectations of the school with the students. In-person training will be done by the same academic members when students arrive. Daily activities and the culture of the school shall be shared with the students. Any other questions from the students would be answered by the heads of the school.
Housing Information
Students will stay at a guest house on site. Housing is simple, but each student will have his/her own room and bathroom. A washing machine is available, however, it is best to wash clothes by hand. Students can join the sisters for meals or cook their own meals at the house, as they prefer, as long as the sisters are aware and can plan accordingly.

Student Preferences
Students should love working with children of all ages. Interest in the arts, sports, education, and other needs. The more students can prepare activities and lessons before arriving, the better prepared they will be once they arrive.
