Leadership Formation

Leadership is the strategic and intentional fostering of collaborative relationships that lead to collective action and positive change for the common good.

When inspired by Catholic social thought, leadership is countercultural, others-centered, encourages the balance of contemplation and action, and nurtures a sacred disposition that motivates others towards acts of mercy and mobilizes a faith that does justice.

Leadership Formation Initiatives

Consider finding your way into leadership through opportunities at the Center for Social Concerns.

Rev. Don McNeill, C.S.C., Leadership Fellows Program

The Rev. Don McNeill, C.S.C., Leadership Fellows Program forms passionate, faith-inspired leaders prepared to advocate and educate for human dignity and live lives of active citizenship for the common good. Each year, the program welcomes a small cohort of students  to consider the roles of social responsibility and leadership formation within their lives, and how these things intersect with vocational aspirations beyond Notre Dame.

Better Together ND

Better Together ND is a relational interfaith leadership development program offered through the Center for Social Concerns beginning in the 2019–20 academic year. Students commit to sharing meals and time together with the goal of interfaith cooperation, developing leadership skills, and learning together.

Leadership Formation Workshop Series

Leadership Formation Workshop Series runs through the academic year offering a variety of skill set workshops to strengthen and support student leadership development. Undergraduate and graduate students seeking to nuture leadership skills within the context of the common good are encouraged to attend.
