International Engagement for Global Learning

While interest in international experiential education opportunities has increased dramatically in recent years, the Center for Social Concerns has been in the forefront of this emerging and evolving field for three decades. With a broad network of partnerships on and off campus, the center has sought to engage students,  faculty, and departments whose work contributes to the well being of global and local communities and advance the overall internationalization of the University.

"In these ethically challenging times, universities should have a sense of urgency to educate students with a deeply felt global responsibility to others, and Catholic universities should play a leading role in pursuit of such a goal. The daunting issues of the 21st century require the serious attention of the academy, not only to find solutions, but to be intentional about educating our students as future leaders mindful of the common good understood in the broadest terms,"  Tomas Morgan and Kollman, 2009.
