Virtual Research Seminar | Faith, Abundance, and Potential: Reflecting on Catholic Social Teaching, Fundraising, and the Call to Stewardship

Friday, November 13, 2020 - 9:00am to Saturday, November 14, 2020 - 9:45am

What first comes to mind when we think about fundraising? Is it a necessary evil, or is it an opportunity to live and spread the Good News of the Gospel? How do our shared Christian faith and the Catholic Social Tradition inform philanthropy, development, and other money matters? What are practical ways we can fully live our Christian call to stewardship through our fundraising efforts? Join author and philanthropist Kerry Robinson for an informal seminar, offered through the Center for Social Concerns, on these and other topics. Kerry will frame development as ministry and discuss her prize-winning book, Imagining Abundance: Fundraising, Philanthropy, and a Spiritual Call to Service.

About the Speaker

Kerry Robinson is the founding executive director and global ambassador of Leadership Roundtable, an organization dedicated to bringing about best practices in the management, human resource development, and finances of the Catholic Church by promoting the expertise and involvement of lay leaders. Prior to launching Leadership Roundtable, Kerry led a successful multimillion-dollar capital campaign for Saint Thomas More Catholic Chapel and Center at Yale University, a project that transformed Catholic life and ministry for generations of university students. She is a trustee of the Raskob Foundation for Catholic Activities and is a member of FADICA (Foundations and Donors Interested in Catholic Activities). Kerry is also a collaborator on the “Catholic Social Tradition and Financial Decision Making” research project, administered by the Center for Social Concerns.
