From the Ashes Documentary

Tuesday, October 3, 2017 - 7:00pm

Through the Center for Social Concerns, with support from the Sustainability minor and ND Energy, the documentary film From the Ashes will be screened in DeBartolo Hall, Room101. One impetus for this screening is part of our ongoing relationship with the Appalachia region through the Appalachia Seminar in which approximately 400 students a year take a course and spend one week in the region over their break. This is also part of Notre Dame's annual Energy Week. From the Ashes presents a compelling look at the lives and issues behind the "war on coal." It premiered at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival and the National Geographic Channel. The film seeks to address various constituencies affected by the "war on coal" and suggests ideas for collectively navigating a way forward. There will be a brief time for discussion and questions after the film.
