COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Grand Emerald Place in South Bend: We are seeking individuals that are enthusiastic, fun loving, and have diverse recreational interests to help in our activities. We would be willing to work around students' schedules, but we particularly need assistance in the evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday mornings 10a.m. to 12 p.m., and Sunday afternoons. Grand Emerald Place would work with students to plan programs they would assist in leading that suits their interests; some might include: manicures, crafts, ladder ball, watching football with the residents, music related programs and special events. Please contact Jenifer Moler at 574-291-2222 or jmoler@enlivant.com.

The Greater Holy Temple Church is in need of volunteer tutors for an after-school tutoring program for kids in the South Bend Community in 1st–12th grades. The program runs from 5:30–8:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and is held at their church, which is located only five minutes (walking) from campus. The tutoring program helps students with reading, math, science, English, and Spanish. If you are interested in tutoring, please contact Starla Ross at 574-631-0953 or at Starla.Ross.72@nd.edu.
