COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

The Logan Center Recreation Club on campus is looking for student volunteers for the annual Logan Center retreat on the weekend of 4/14-4/15. The retreat consists of staying overnight at Camp Friedenswald in Cassopolis, MI with Logan Center clients, partaking in various outdoor activities over the weekend. They are looking for a larger student presence to help out. All of the costs are covered by the club. If you are interested, please contact Grant Fonacier at gfonacie@nd.edu.

The South Bend Community School Corporation is in need of a student that speaks both English and Spanish and would be willing to help with interpreting for parents and to assist with some paperwork. Interpretation help is needed for classes that parents can learn English, classes on budgeting and building credit, and classes on home buying. The classes are held every Monday from 3:30-6:30 p.m. If you are interested in fulfilling some interpreting hours or volunteering to help out in the community, please contact Brenda Alvarez at 574-274-7699.

Life Treatment Centers, the only weather amnesty resource for women in South Bend, is in urgent need of overnight volunteers at their women's house. If you are able to assist, please contact Life Treatment Centers at 574-233-5433 or jshapiro@lifetreatmentcenters.org

The Greater Holy Temple Church is in need of volunteer tutors for an after-school tutoring program for kids in the South Bend Community in 1st–12th grades. The program runs from 5:30–8:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and is held at their church, which is located only five minutes from campus. INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER ASSISTANCE

A Mishawaka resident is seeking a non-smoking student to provide transportation and assistance with grocery shopping 1-2 times per month. If you are able to volunteer, please contact Tammy Norwaish at 574-255-2334.
