Assistant Director, International Summer Service Learning Program (Latin America)

Jimena Holguín is the assistant director for the International Summer Service Learning Program (ISSLP) for Latin America at the Center for Social Concerns. In this role, she works closely with partner organizations in the region, and oversees, coordinates and evaluates student placements and scope of work in the ISSLP sites in Latin America. She also works and collaborates with faculty and staff on campus and abroad to develop and support community-based learning opportunities for students while studying abroad.

Jimena joined the Center for Social Concerns in 2011. In addition to her role in the International Engagement Area, she has served in the areas of Community Engagement and Community-Based Research at the CSC. Before coming to Notre Dame for graduate school, she worked as national coordinator and technical advisor for the Government of Colombia in the reintegration process of ex-combatants coming from paramilitary groups in Colombia. She has also worked as a consultant for international organizations such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ford Foundation.

She holds degrees from Los Andes University (Bogotá, Colombia) in Romance Languages (B.A.) and Political Science (M.A.) and the University of Notre Dame in International Peace Studies (M.A.)
