Academic Events/Initiatives/Co-Sponsorships and Professional Development
Community-Engaged Learning Community Impact Grant proposals should explain how an investment in a co-curricular learning opportunity will translate into community impact and advance social justice. Proposals must address a dimension of community-engaged research, teaching, and/or learning (CERTL) consistent with the mission of the Center for Social Concerns.
Community-Engaged Learning proposals fall into one of two categories:
1) Academic event/initiative (co-sponsorships)
a) on campus
b) off campus
c) both on and off campus
- Applications for events/co-sponsorships must be submitted at least four weeks before the requested event. If your proposal needs a response after the 4-week minimum but before the proposal deadline, please select the "expedited review" option within the form and give a detailed explanation as to why an expedited review is necessary for the proposed submission. The committee will review to see if the proposal meets expedited review requirements and will receive a response within 11 business days and that response will be one of the following:
2) Professional development for a learning experience such as an internship, fellowship, conference, or seminar that will advance an applicant's, or team of applicants', knowledge and skills in the areas of CERTL consistent with the mission of the Center for Social Concerns. Eligible applicants include:
a) Notre Dame faculty, staff, and students
b) Community partners who are current Community-Based Learning Coordinators (CBLCs)
