Camp Christopher

Site Description:

Camp Christopher offers day camp for youth and a residential camp for adults who have disabilities. The Camp is committed to the growth and development of campers through quality programming structured around nature, community and spirit. The student works as a counselor for both camps, working with the adults and with the children. Counselors are responsible for leading activities as well as caring for the campers who may need help with eating, showering, or using the bathroom. The property also provides a large overnight and day camp service for typically developing youth which provides excellent opportunities for inclusive programming. Check out our a recent video made to thank your donors:

Student Responsibilities:
Primarily, the student(s) act as a counselor for our children and adults with disabilities. They will work during the days with the children and in the evenings with the adults or with the other children overnight campers. Tasks include providing supervision and direction, assisting campers with personal care (restrooms, feeding, dressing), leading activities (arts and crafts, hiking, field games, etc.), and program documentation. This camp experience requires lots of energy and flexibility!
