Site Description:

C24/7 is a non-profit organization dedicated, through the power of Jesus Christ, to improving the lives of children and young adults in the North of Howard neighborhood by providing them with the necessary tools, security and environment for them to thrive economically, socially and spiritually. We seek these goals through an afterschool program, job training program, and community outreach.

Depending on when the student arrives, the afterschool tutoring program may or may not be part of the SSLP since it ends in mid-June. There are, however, many other opportunities to work with children as a camp counselor and occasional coordinator.

Student Responsibilities:
Building relationships with kids in the neighborhood as part of our afterschool and summer camp programs. This will include tutoring and counseling.
Communicating our message to key stakeholders by helping maintain our brand, running our social media, conducting market research and/or creating marketing material for our program offerings.
Creating opportunities for our other University and campus ministry partners around the country to get involved more with our ministry. This may include creating new initiatives and/or building on old ones, such as our college mentor program.
Working on a student-determined project that builds on their passions and talents.
Potentially working one or two days a week with a summer program very similar to ours, in addition to ours, at the United Church of Rogers Park (1545 West Morse Ave). This is negotiable with the student, and is the result of a relationship between C24/7 and UCRP. The primary aim is for the student to experience two different groups of children who share the similar experience of growing up in Rogers Park, and to critically evaluate the student's experience in light of the two settings.
