Reservable Spaces in Geddes Hall

Room reservations

The Institute for Social Concerns reflects a spirit of generosity and hospitality by sharing many of its material resources with its constituents, symbolic of the collaborative manner in which the institute aims to realize its mission. To request a room, please fill out the Reservation Request Form. Please email socialconcerns@nd.edu with questions. Note the following:

  • Reservations may only be made for University events by current Notre Dame faculty and staff.
  • Students groups are not permitted to reserve space in Geddes Hall.
  • Requests to reserve space may be made a minimum of 5 business days and a maximum of 30 days in advance.
  • Events may only take place during Geddes Hall building hours.
  • Events must end at least 30 minutes before the building closes.
  • A representative from the sponsoring organization must be present at all times during the event.
  • At the time of reservation, the reserving party is required to provide a FOAPAL to be used in the event of incidental charges.
  • While simple food and beverages are allowed in most rooms, professional catering is restricted to the Coffee House. Food and beverages are not permitted in the Andrews Auditorium, basement classrooms, or chapel.
  • Reservations are not confirmed until an email notice of confirmation has been received.
  • Students may study in non-reserved spaces on the first and second floors; doors to spaces must remain open while students are studying in them.

Andrews Auditorium

Located in the basement of Geddes Hall, Andrews Auditorium seats approximately 144 guests and includes projection screens, computer, audio system, and laptop connections.

Classrooms

Classrooms seat up to 40 guests and include a smart TV or projection screen and laptop connections.

Fr. Bob’s Coffee House

Named in memory of Monsignor Robert J. Kane ’50, the Coffee House seats approximately 55 guests and is available for groups of 20–55. The Coffee House is equipped with a TV monitor, computer, and laptop connection as well as a full kitchen and an adjoining patio (The Durkin Plaza).

Founders Room

The Founders Room seats approximately 14 guests and is equipped with a smart TV and laptop connections.

Fr. Don McNeill, C.S.C. Gallery

The McNeill Gallery is an open area used for informal meetings and gatherings. Accommodating approximately 20–50 guests, the gallery includes a TV monitor and laptop connections.

Mahatma Gandhi Room

The Mahatma Gandhi Room seats approximately 8 guests and is equipped with a smart TV and laptop connections.

Our Lady of Mercy Chapel

Our Lady of Mercy Chapel seats approximately 72 guests and may be scheduled for liturgies and prayer services. (It is unable to accommodate baptisms, weddings, and similar events.) Technology in the chapel includes audio system, CD player, microphones and microphone stand. Hosts and wine are provided for Mass.
