This is the true story of seven strangers, picked to live in a camp, work together and have their lives photographed, to find out what happens when people leave their bubble and start getting real.

THE REAL WORLD:  Appalachia

 

This website chronicles the week-long experience of seven Notre Dame students who volunteered their Spring Break to do service in Appalachia.

Previously strangers, we seven students became close friends during our week at CAP in Eastern Kentucky.

 

We woke up early, worked hard all day, braved the elements, sacrificed warm showers, and slept in stuffy cabins.

We also made new friends from other schools, bonded with our own team, learned about Appalachian culture, strengthened our spirituality, made great progress on service projects for needy families, and HAD AN ABSOLUTE BLAST.
