Post-graduate Service Fair

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Joyce Center Concourse  5-8pm

Representatives from over 70 service programs will be present at this year's Post-graduate Service Fair. On behalf of the Center for Social Concerns, we would like to thank them for their continued recruitment, training and support of the University of Notre Dame and Saint Mary's College students who wish to commit to a year or more of full-time service after graduation. We appreciate the partnerships with these organizations and our collaborative work towards the creation of a more just and humane world.

Most post-graduate service programs offer room, board, monthly stipend and health insurance, and the participants live in community. If funding is renewed for '07-'08, the AmeriCorps educational award, $4,725 towards college loans or future education, is earned in most programs, including faith-based programs. In other programs you earn a salary and live on your own. Types of placements with these organizations include: Business Administration, Community Organizing, Construction, Environment, Health Care, Legal Services, Parish Ministry, Peace and Justice Advocacy, Services with Hispanic populations, Services with persons who are homeless, Social Services, Teaching, and Youth Ministry.
