F. Clark Power Receives the Ganey Faculty Community-Based Research Award

  F. Clark Power, professor of the Program for Liberal Studies and Concurrent Professor of Psychology, will receive the Rodney F. Ganey, Ph.D., Faculty Community-Based Research Award. The award, named after a former Notre Dame sociology professor recognizes distinguished research conducted for a local nonprofit or community organization.

A member of the Notre Dame faculty since 1982, Power has been an active researcher on the connection between self-awareness, moral development and democratic education. In the community, Clark was the driving force behind two innovative programs. The first, Your Educational Success (YES), developed learning strategies for at-risk youth at Adams High School, South Bend. Furthermore, Clark helped develop the World Masterpiece Seminar at the South Bend Center for the Homeless, a program that exposes the Center’s guests to great works of philosophy and literature.
