Community Engagement Faculty Institute

TAKING EDUCATION BEYOND THE WALLS OF THE CLASSROOM

The Center for Social Concerns Community Engagement Faculty Institute is designed for all who want to deepen their knowledge, skills, and passion for community-based teaching, research, and scholarship. The three-day Faculty Institute is itself a model of engaged learning. It features a mix of lectures by faculty and community experts on the theory and practice of community engagement along with travel into the local community to learn with community partners who address a range of social concerns, such as poverty, healthcare, and education. Community partner connections and institute curriculum are tailored to the learning objectives and interests expressed by the emergent cohort each year.

For information about the Faculty Institute including Participant Profiles, Presenter Profiles, Institute Activities, Recommended Resources, CBL Syllabi and Projects, Community-Based Research, Professional Organizations and Conferences, and the Academic Community Engagement Blog visit http://blogs.nd.edu/community-engagement-faculty-institute/.
