COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Do you love older houses, local history and talking with people? The History Museum is accepting registrations for those interested in giving guided tours of the museum’s historic house, the 38-room Oliver Mansion. A new class of docents is being formed for a seven-week training session taking place weekly from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. starting Friday, April 1. The final two sessions take place following final exams and are not required for students. Additional one-on-one training can take place in the fall semester. Pre-registration is required. For more information, contact Chelsea Reese, 574-235-9664, ext. 239 or creese@historymuseumSB.org.
The Food Bank of Northern Indiana is looking for volunteers for a once-a-month box giveaway for local seniors. These giveaways are held the first Tuesday of every month between the hours of 9:45am-2:00pm. This is a perfect opportunity for groups--volunteers can help with sign-ins, traffic control and directing clients, and carrying boxes. For more information, please contact Brandy Love at 574-232-9986 ext.137 or by email at email@example.com.

They are looking for students to design a volunteer newsletter layout (for digital and print) that can then be populated by their staff. The designer would be invited to help populate the initial issue with relevant content. Students are also invited to create a volunteer brochure to help communicate opportunities to the community. For more information, please contact Christine Flowers at 574-232-0853.
