Latino Leadership Intern Program
Academic Requirements
Attend all preparatory classes and orientation activities:
- 3 classes during Spring semester 2008, dates announced to accepted students.
- Overnight (Saturday to Sunday) visit to sites in Chicago February 23-24, 2008
- Half day visit with Site supervisor individually or in small groups before April 30, 2008.
- Register for three-credit course in Catholic Social Tradition, CST 33933; Latino Studies ILS, 35801; or Theology, THEO 33933 (Credit is granted in Fall of 2008, after students successfully complete all requirements.)
- Read course books and course packet articles
- Complete study questions during the summer and send to the program directors after 4 weeks at the internship
- Interview three leaders in the community during the summer
- Keep a journal
- Reflection with facilitator and other interns (approximately 3 times during summer)
- Present at retreat for interns and supervisors in Chicago, late July 2008
- Write synthesis paper at the end of the experience
Required follow-up activities:
- Dinner discussion with other interns
